Description

MEXICO   This lot comprises a single Mint Stamp re-issued in 1932 with an overprint.   The original issue was in 1929, and was to commemorate the first anniversary of the death of an airman, Captain Emilo Carranza. The dates on the stamp are 13th July 1928 to 13th July, 1929.   In the following years, this stamp was overprinted with various impressions denoting it as an Air Stamp.   The stamp on offer is numbered by Gibbons as SG 524, and is the 1932 issue with the overprint “Habilitado Aereo – 1932” (a literal translation being “Enabled Air – 1932).   The stated catalogue value is £3.25 mint, and this is in a very fine condition, with gum totally intact and has not been mounted (as far as I can see).   This is not a country I collect, having acquired this in a “Glory Box” with others when searching for the elusive odd stamp to complete various sets.  It needs a good home and to help it on its way I have set the starting price at £0.49.   Happy bidding, the very best of luck, and my thanks to you for looking.   Powered by eBay Turbo Lister
