SS MACMURRAY VICTORY WW II Victory Ship memorial cover with postmark from Jacksonville, Illinois dated March 21, 2005. Color printed cachet #1739 of  underway Victory Ship by Alvin Eckert USCS #9964. The merchant cargo ship was built by the Permanente Metal Corp. at Richmond, CA. in 1945, and launched on April 28, 1945. The ship was named for MacMurray College in Jacksonville, IL and is part of a group of 150 Victory Ships that were named for US Colleges and Universities. Cover franked with 37 cent USPS World War II Memorial commemorative stamp ( Sc# 3862 ). Seller has covers for all the Victory Ships named for US Colleges, Cities and Towns. Check out my other items!
